The SUNBEAMS nursery - 6 weeks to 22 months (approx)

As parent of young twins myself my aim is to provide everything that as a mother I feel other parents would want for their children themselves. Our high ratio of staff to children ensures that your child receives plenty of individual attention and unlimited hugs and cuddles. In Sunbeams we endeavour to maintain the routine that your child enjoys at home. All children are encouraged to learn through play and are given opportunities to explore a wide variety of experiences. To enable us to reach this goal we have two qualified and caring staff that have a wealth knowledge and experience .We aim for our Sunbeams nursery to be a secure, stimulating and caring environment-providing parents with the confidence and peace of mind knowing that their children are receiving the best care possible. If there are siblings within the nursery we like to encourage regular visits so they can mix and play at various times as they would do at home.

We are currently studying and working towards the Early Years Foundation Stage as recommended by Ofsted and the Early Years Network. Our Sunbeams staff have also been trained in baby signing which is a form of pre-verbal communication with your child using visual clues (signs) before they can talk. We will provide further information to you and information on how you can develop this at home when you start at the nursery.

We have 2 triple pushchairs which are suitable from birth to three year to enable us to take babies out for walks and to get fresh air. As with the rest of the nursery our Sunbeams babies get to enjoy the benefit of the 3 nursery people carriers we own enabling us to take them out on trips (parents are requested to leave their car seats with us on these days). Firm favourites with the little ones are the local farms, parks and without a doubt Gresenhall.

Each baby is allocated a diary which provides a daily record of their time at the nursery. This includes information relating to the number and times of feeds, nappy changes, sleeps, how much of their breakfast, lunch, tea or snack they have had as well as giving general comments. We encourage parents to make use of the diary at any time. We are also happy for you to ring the nursery at any time if you would like to check on how your little one is getting on.

The Sunbeams nursery is a purpose built unit, housed next to our Sunshine nursery and our aim here is to encourage a working relationship between the Sunbeam and Sunshine Nurseries to enable a smooth transaction once our Sunbeams become Sunshines.

Fees for the SUNBEAMS nursery

Additional hours outside of morning and afternoon sessions can be added at a rate of £3.75 per hour. (There is a reduction of 20p per hour for siblings @ the nursery and we also operate a discount for parents working on the NHS -please ask for further details). Please note that our fees structure is exclusive of meals and parents will need to supply their own nappies, wipes and cream. Our research has shown that with all of the different dietary options available it would be in the babies best interest if parents provide their meals suitable to the child's preferences. However, as the children grow older it is possible to provide them with a cooked lunch at a cost of £2.10 and a snack type tea at a cost of £1.10
