• East Dereham Day Nursery

“My child has attended the nursery since she was 6 months old. She has always enjoyed her time at the nursery and there are plenty of activities and equipment to keep children of all ages occupied. The After School / Holiday club is great for the older children, they are always making things and going on exciting trips.”

“The nursery has given both my children an opportunity to make new friends and explore their creativeness. It has made them both independent and confident.”

Welcome to East Dereham Day Nursery

The East Dereham Day Nursery is a thriving, warm, friendly and welcoming nursery located in the heart of Dereham. We have been operating our nursery for over 30 years and our Ofsted report reflects the high quality of child care offer.

Throughout our environment, we have created lots of invitations for learning using a wide variety of natural resources to create lots of magical moments for your precious children. We recognise every child’s individuality, efforts and achievements and believe that relationships between adults and children are crucial for your child’s happiness and security. Your child will be allocated a key worker who will make sure that they feel special and individual, cherished and thought about by a caring member of the team whilst they are away from home. Your child’s key worker also ensures that you have the opportunity to build a professional and supportive relationship with them to support you as well as your child whilst they are at nursery.

Secure App & Learning Journal

East Dereham Day Nursery has invested in a secure App which we use to send bills, newsletter and any updates out (paper copies can also be requested). The app can be downloaded on any smartphone or tablet. It allows you to view what payments you have made and when along with any balances. A login is also provided for your child’s online learning journey which is regularly updated by your child’s key person so you can see and contribute to your child’s learning and development.

Funded Sessions

We accept 2 year funded children, as well as 15 hour and 30 hour funded 3 & 4 year olds, with the option of all year round or term time only. We are very flexible with how you can use your funded sessions and we also run our term time only sessions in line with the local schools to help support families where they may have older siblings at school.

Parent and Family Partnerships

At East Dereham Day Nursery we value our parent and family partnerships and welcome you into the nursery for many planned events such as story café’s, activity mornings, Mother’s and Father’s Day celebrations plus many more. We always have a great response to such events and very much look forward to you attending these where possible.

New Free Online Library

At the nursery, we are pleased to be able to say we have heavily invested in books to enable us to create a library for all our parents/children to use. There are so many reasons why reading at an early age is beneficial:
– Reading helps develop a young child’s brain. Vital connections are made very early in life and when stimulated, these form the basis of future learning. Stimulating your young child’s brain cells through these early experiences will help them to become better listeners, readers and communicators as well as instilling a lifelong love of reading
– Early reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity and stimulates the imagination of young children
– Reading will help young children become better writers and communicators
